Q. What is the best timber to use for a deck?

A. Durability class 1. Australian Hardwood, Red Iron Bark, Australian Spotted Gum.

Q. Why is Hardwood more expensive than Treated Pine?

A. This is due to the labour costs involved in the installation of Hardwood as hardwood timber needs to be predrilled prior to installation. Also the actual cost of the timber itself is twice as expensive due to milling processes it undergoes before it is suitable for installation.

Q. How much experience do you have in the industry?

A. Parslow’s Decks has been established since the year 2000 and has over 15 years experience in the industry.

Q. How long will it take to build a deck?

A. Every deck is different and a time frame estimation will depend on the size of the deck and also the accessibility (that is how easy it is to get materials and tools in and out of the job site). An average sized deck can take approximately 5 days to build (6m x 3m) in treated pine. However this is subject to a proper terrain and site assessment and also is subject to the weather.
